How StayVersus works
StayVersus puts hotels side by side so you can see, fact by fact, which one suits your trip.
Where the facts come from
Hotel details such as star rating, number of rooms, check-in times, photos and guest ratings come from our booking partner Agoda. Official websites, phone numbers and map positions are matched from Overture Maps (open data from Meta, Microsoft, Foursquare and others, CDLA-Permissive-2.0 and Apache-2.0) and OpenStreetMap (ODbL). Distances are calculated by us.
The StayVersus score
A hotel with a 9.5 rating from 4 reviews is not proven in the way a 9.0 from 3,000 reviews is. The StayVersus score is the guest rating pulled towards the city average until a hotel has enough reviews to stand on its own. It is calculated the same way for every hotel, and no hotel can pay to change it.
How comparisons pick a winner
For each category we compare the two values directly: higher rating, more reviews, more stars, more rooms, a newer building or renovation, shorter distance to the centre, earlier check-in and later check-out. When a value is missing for one hotel, that category is not scored. "Better for" notes are written from the same facts.
How we make money
When you follow a link to a booking site and book, we may receive a commission from that site. You pay the same price. Commissions never change rankings, scores or comparisons.
